2019年6月，经济学院共有32名国际学生顺利毕业，他们来自不同的国家，有着不同的肤色，说着不同的语言，但他们都有一个共同的身份——华中科技大学经济学院毕业生。毕业季期间，学院为每位国际学生毕业生们准备了毕业文化衫、告别明信片，组织了毕业照拍摄、学院地标打卡、毕业生采访等活动。我们认真地准备着道别，但是这一次我们不说再见......

    除了难忘的毕业活动外，也让我们听听一些毕业生的声音，见证他们的“华中大故事”！

飞扬：喻见经济，精彩无限

今年是24岁的白俄罗斯女孩——飞扬，在中国学习的第四年。在中国的这些年里，她邂逅了爱情，收获了知识，增长了经验。

与中国熟识

在白俄罗斯读大学时，飞扬便选择了中文专业进行学习。一次偶然的机会，她在老师的指导下申请了武汉大学的来华留学项目。申请顺利通过后，她来到中国学习中文。然而这个陌生的国度给她带来了不少挑战。除了饮食和文化的差异，飞扬最苦恼的还是语言问题。尽管已经学习过一两年的中文，但飞扬初来中国时却远远不能达到和母语中文者流利交流的水平。“不会说中文非常不方便，特别是很难买到想要的东西。”飞扬说，“第一年我尽了很大的努力学习中文，后来渐渐能够适应中国的生活。”

在武汉大学，飞扬遇到了一位十分投缘的美国男生，两人都希望能够更多地了解对方。于是决定一同留在中国进行更深入的学习。他们申请了华中科技大学经济学院的硕士，并成功进入经济学院继续深造。

习惯了中文环境后，飞扬感受到在中国生活的许多便利之处。她十分敬佩中国能将高科技普及运用在日常生活中。主图的新馆去年启用了人脸识别系统，只需将面部信息和校园卡进行绑定就可以实现“刷脸进出”。这种在几年前好似电影的情节现在已经是人们所习惯的生活方式了，她感到不可思议。

与华中大相伴

在华中大生活了三年，飞扬深深地爱上了这所学校。她说：“华中大的环境很好，自然环境和人文环境都非常棒。学校有很多树，夏天的时候走在林荫道上很舒服，这里的温度比城市其他地方低很多。同学学习都很认真，学习的氛围我很喜欢。”

在华中大，飞扬认识了一些新的朋友。她曾几次受邀参加国际学生自发的交流茶会，在茶会上，大家分享自己国家的风俗习惯，了解不同国家的风土人情，学习如何和其他国家的同学交往、有哪些注意事项。在分享过程中，飞扬惊喜地发现茶会的组织者也是来自白俄罗斯的姑娘。两个白俄罗斯女孩成为了很好的朋友，经常分享生活中的喜悦。

与经济学院相依

飞扬在经济学院学习的是国际贸易专业。她和国内的研究生一起参加必修课程的中文授课，只有选修的几门才是英文授课。“中英文授课有很大的不同。”飞扬说。英文授课更加开放自主，老师经常在抛出一个话题后组织讨论，而中文授课更多是以老师直接讲授的形式来学习高深的经济理论。她在学习中文课程时，除了要接受语言上的挑战，还会被难以理解的高级理论和数学所难住。飞扬在学习时常常会遇到无法自己解决问题，她有时会向老师提问，也有时和同学一同探讨。班上的同学非常聪明且热心，总是能够帮她解决疑难。

今年夏天，飞扬即将毕业离开经济学院。她的毕业论文研究的是白俄罗斯与中国的双边贸易。在做论文时，导师李昭华给了她很大的帮助。李昭华教授曾在国际贸易公司工作过，能够将经济理论与实际的商务应用很好地结合起来。飞扬从李教授那里学到了很多。她说：“李老师是个非常认真的老师。每次我给他发邮件，总能在5分钟内收到回复。他的工作非常忙碌，却还能这么快速地给我回复，我非常尊敬和感激老师。”

毕业后，飞扬计划参加工作，把所学的知识进行实际的应用。她说，自己已经当了太久的学生，是时候把学到的东西在工作中进行应用。

KSENIYA: Majoring in Economics brings lots of joys

This is the fourth year of study in China for KSENIYA, a 24-year-oldBelorussiangirl. During these years in China, she met with love, gained knowledge and increased experience.

Getting acquainted with China

In Belarus,KSENIYA Schose to study Chinese as a major.Once, under the guidance of her teacher, she applied for program of Wuhan University in China. After the successful application, she came to China to study economics. However, this strange country has brought many challenges to her. Apart from the differences in diet and culture, the most distressing thing for KSENIYA was the languagebarrier. Despite having studied Chinese for a couple of years,KSENIYA was still far from fluent in communicating with native Chinese speakers when she first came to China. "It's very inconvenientthat I cannot speak Chinese, especially when it's difficult to get what you wantin supermarket."KSENIYA said, "In the first year, I made great efforts to learn Chinese, and then gradually adapted to Chinese life."

At Wuhan University,KSENIYA met an American boy. They both wanted to know each other better, and they decided to stay in China for further study. They applied for a master's degree for the School of Economics, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and successfully made it.

Having been accustomed to the Chinese environment,KSENIYA felt conveniences in living in China. She admires China's ability to apply high-tech to everyday life. The new library launched a face recognition system last year. It only needs to bind facial information and campus cards to achieve "brushing face in and out". This kind of movie-like plot a few years ago is but now a way of life that people are accustomed to, and she feels incredible.

After living in Huazhong University of Science and Technology for three years,KSENIYA fell deeply in love with this school. She said: "Theenvironment is very nice, both natural and human environment. There are many trees in the school. It's very comfortable to walk on the avenue in summer. The temperature here is much lower than that in other parts of the city. My classmates are all working hard. I like the atmosphere of study very much."

In Huazhong University of Science and Technology,KSENIYA met some new friends. She has been invited to attend tea parties for foreign students several times. At the tea parties, they do not only share the customs of their countries but also try to appreciate the customs of others. In addition to this, they learn how to interact with students from other countries, and identify what matters need attention. In the process of sharing,KSENIYA was surprised to find that the organizer of tea parties was also a girl from Belarus. TwoBelorussiangirls became good friends and often shared the joys of life.

Get accustomed to School of Economics 

KSENIYA majored in International Economics and Trade at the School of Economics. She participated in the mandatory courses in Chinese with graduate students in China. Only a few elective courses were taught in English.“There is a big difference between Chinese and English teaching.’”KSENIYA said.“English teaching is more open and autonomous. Teachers often organize discussions after throwing out a topic, while Chinese teaching is more often to make students learn advanced economic theory in the form of lecturing.”Apart from facing language challenges, she is also be stuck by advanced theories and mathematics that are difficult to understand.KSENIYA often encounters problems that she can't solve by herself when studying. She sometimes asks teachers questions and sometimes discusses with her classmates. The students in the class are very clever and enthusiastic, always able to help her solve problems.

This summer,KSENIYA will graduate from the School of Economics. Her graduation thesis deals with bilateral trade between Belarus and China. Li Zhaohua, her tutor, helped her a lot when she was writing her paper. Professor Li Zhaohua has worked in an international trading company and is able to integrate economic theory with practical business applications.KSENIYA learned a lot from Professor Li. She said, "Professor Li is a very serious teacher. Every time I send him an email, I get a reply in five minutes. Heis very busy, but he always replies to me so quickly. I respect and thank him very much."

After graduation,KSENIYA plans to take part in the work and put the knowledge learned into application. She said that she had been a student for too long, and it was time to repay her motherland with what she had learned.

郝宝：在华中大，我成为了更好的人

在郝宝眼里，未来世界的大舞台是属于中国的，也正是如此，郝宝想要真正地了解中国的文化和语言，来融入到中国快速的发展中。当她来到了华中大，她深深地感受到了中国教育和她的祖国的不同之处：先是学习氛围的不同，在约旦初高中都是十分放松的，而到了大学一切变得严格了起来，没有人敢在课堂上讲话或者开小差；相反在中国，学生在进入大学前要顶着来自高考的巨大压力，上了大学后却变得轻松了起来。再是教学方式有异，在约旦大学老师更注重实践，有许多课程甚至没有课本，取而代之的是老师会教授给他们许多让其在现实生活中受益的知识；而在中国，老师则似乎更偏重理论知识。

学业之余，郝宝的生活可谓多姿多彩，她就像一个满怀兴奋的孩子，总是准备好去尝试新鲜的事物，结交五湖四海的朋友。来汉三年，她最初尝试过学习书法，无奈总是写得歪七扭八，她便转而学习编制中国结和捏陶土。闲暇时间里，她也总是去到光谷看电影。然而在她眼里，最为难忘的还属她的志愿者经历。回想起那段在小学当外教教英语的经历，她心中总是充满快乐，和孩子们在一起的时光使她感觉她永远年轻。

除此之外，旅游也是郝宝的一大爱好。中国的五湖四海深深地吸引着她，目前，她已经游览了北京、济南、西安、孔子故乡曲阜、杭州、张家界、桂林、昆明、大理、泰山等地方，感受那里的风土人情，品味那里的美食佳肴... ...和许多年轻人一样，郝宝也有着环游世界的梦想，而在华期间，中国就是她的“世界”。

作为一个十足的吃货，郝宝表示在中国美食里她的最爱还属火锅。氤氲的蒸汽里，一口滚烫的火锅让她仿佛置身天堂。在华中大的食堂里，她不厌其烦地品尝各色美食，热干面、饺子，还有奶茶，她都无法割舍。“奶茶简直就是世界上最棒的发明，回国之后我甚至想开一间奶茶店！”她兴奋地说道。

郝宝也结交了不少中国朋友。由于她和中国学生一起上课，有着异国面孔的她便成为了容易辨识的少数。而中国学生们总是热心地帮助她，一来二往，便打破了国家和语言之间的障碍，结下了深厚的情谊。“我是一个喜欢结交朋友的人，所以只要一有认识新人的机会我就会去参加活动。”由此，她加入了SICA的中文角，表示她爱那里的氛围，也爱那里的人。

毕业将至，谈及未来的去向，郝宝计划在积累了足够的经验后，她希望自己能够开始自己的生意。比起接下来的学习，她更迫切想要知道将来自己职业的方向，也许在将来她也会选择攻读博士来为日后的职业生涯服务。

郝宝说，中国不仅仅让她开了眼界，也让她看到了更好的自己。想到即将离开中国，她有些不知所措，在这里的点滴时光已经成为了她的一部分，她不知该如何割舍。

In Heba’s opinion, “I really feel thatChina plays the main role infutureworld stage”, and she wantsto be one of the people who understand the culture and language in order to be part of this development. After she came to HUST, she deeply felt the difference in education between China and her motherland. Firstly, the learning atmosphere was different, in Jordan, junior and high school were very relaxing, and when it comesto college, everything became strict. No one dares to speak or run away in class;in China, on the other hand, students become relaxed after going to college, who areunder great pressure from the college entrance examination before entering college.Also,teachers in Jordanian universities pay more attention to practice, and there are many courses that do not even have textbooks. Instead, teachers will teach them a lot of knowledge that will benefit them in real life. In China, teachers seem to place more emphasis on theoretical knowledge.

In addition to her studies, Heba's life can be described as colorful, she is like an excited child, always ready to try new things, make friends all over the world. After three years in China, she first tried to learn calligraphy, but she always wrote crooked, so she turned to learning to compile Chinese knots and pinch clay. In her spare time, she always goes to theOptic Valleyto watch movies. In her eyes, however, the most unforgettable was her volunteer experience. Looking back on the experience of teaching English as a foreign teacher in primary school, her heart was always full of happiness, and the time with her children made her feel that she was always young.

Heba also made a lot of Chinese friends. As she attended classes with Chinese students, she became an easily recognizable minority with a foreign face. The Chinese students always helped her enthusiastically, breaking the barrier between the country and the language, and forged a deep friendship. "I am a person who likes to meet new people so whenever there is a chance to meet new people I will immediately join without hesitation." As a result, she joined the Chinese corner of SICA ( Student International Communicating Association), saying she loved the atmosphere and the people there.

As graduation approaches, Heba plansthat after accumulating enough experience, she hopes she can start her own business. She is more eager to know the future direction of her career than the following study, and perhaps she will choose to study for a Ph.D. in the future to serve her future career.

柯韩:努力工作是成功的关建

李诺男：青梧林下，收获无价

师恩如山，在华中大的学习生涯中，同导师间的故事也定让李诺男难以忘怀。

昨日可忆，未来可期

随着毕业季的到来，李诺男也站在了人生的十字路口。当谈到对未来的规划时，李诺男表示，在华中大的经历很美好，但他前面的路还很长，科研并不是一天，一年的任务。他现在在研究的项目是一项虽然有野心，但也切实可行的项目，他希望能够去了解这个世界，去为这个世界提供一些正面的东西，去为国家间经济发展的不平衡提出一些解决方案，这个项目可能会延续十年之久。关于他未来的去向，他表示自己还没有确定，他喜欢让自己能够接触到各种可能性，他也已经参加了迪拜的一些面试，正在等待面试结果的通知。

几年前以前的李诺男，带着对未来的期许踏入华中大大的校门，如今的他，已经成长为一名专业而自信的优秀毕业生，即将带着华中大大的烙印，带着经济学院的痕迹，走出1037号森林，我们祝福他的未来，前程似锦，有梦终圆。

Mirza: The Harvest in HUST is Priceless

With a pair of bright eyes, generous words, confident and brilliant smile......this man in front of me is from Pakistan. He will successfully complete his three years of PhD in the School of Economics, Huazhong University of Science and Technology in June 2019. Mirza, has been an excellent international student, readily accepted the interview invitation and his story with HUST.

Choose China, Choose HUST

Before coming to China, Mirza had studied at Queen Mary, University of London. What attracted him to choose China for studies instead of continuing in Britain? He said that when he was studying at Queen Mary College, there were many Chinese students there, which showed that China's education system was very strong because the students educated under such a system were strong enough to compete overseas. The personal observation and encouragement led Mirza to choose to come to China to study.

With so many colleges and universities in China, what made Mirza choose HUST? Mirza expressed firstly about the national and international ranking of HUST and secondly, he related with its existence in the city (Wuhan) which is not internationalized and exhibits more cultural affinity than other cosmopolitan cities of China. He believes that as a steadily growing developing country, the retention of culture with its characteristics has a great advantage for China. In his opinion, a nation with its strong cultural existence has its own benefits. Living and studying in a growing city with its retention of culture is undoubtedly a good choice.

Thus, Mirza met HUST and officially started the life in the Yuyuan in Forest 1037 for three years.

Tour the World, a Wonderful Stop

Before coming to China, Mirza already had some Chinese friends. They told him a lot about China, so Mirza had a general impression of China. China is the eighth country where Mirza has stayed in. As an overseas student with rich experience, when he first came to HUST, Mirza did not feel there was too much difference.

Perhaps the biggest obstacle Mirza encountered was the language barrier.When he came to HUST on the first day it took him one hour to find someone who can communicate in English and direct him to International students’ office. But with the passage of time, he became more familiar with HUST and the people around him, he gradually found a way to communicate with the people here. Also, in the process of overcoming language related obstacles, his observation was improved more than his Chinese language skills.

Mirza said that though it is unjust to compare the education institutions of countries with different social structures but comparing with some schools overseas, HUST has a good learning atmosphere. With his observation he analyzed that the Chinese students around him are hard-working, which also enabled him to concentrate on his learning. However, he believes that the university should not only be a place to study, but also may also help the students to feel home. When a person encounters some difficulties, the HUST family around him should help him. Therefore, he proposed to participate in more group building activities, so that students would have a better sense of belonging to the school.

While studying in HUST, Mirza also attended some events. He believed that the most exciting event was an international conference called Community with a Shared Future for Mankind and Global Goverance organized by Professor Ouyang Kang. He found different perspectives and approaches to identify the recent policy related issues which added to his life a wonderful knowledge and experience. In his spare time, he also organized some social activities for international students. In his first year in HUST, he arranged a barbecue party with his friends and invited more than 20 foreign students to attend. By recalling his time of first year in China, he shared some good memories with his friends.

Grateful to the Professor, Grateful to HUST

Speaking of hissupervisor, Professor Fang Hongzhong, Mirza’s words were full of gratitude. While speaking highly of him, Mirza expressed that his professor was a person with deep knowledge of economic problems and has intellect of a philosopher. What impressed him the most was his professor made him learn how to research. When Mirza first arrived at HUST, his research skills were primitive, which made the processes of his scientific research less organized. His professor saw his efforts and hard work, then he offered him a helping hand. "It's because of him that I mastered the research skills." Mirza recalled. Whenever he discussed his ideas, his professor helped him to organize the idea to have more clarity and efficacy. "He really helped me a lot." Mirza said. At the same time, he also hoped that in futureinternationalstudents might be assisted with some international students an coordinators Professors to bridge the research and communication related gaps. That will not only bring an association helping in the improvement of research in school but will also reduce the burden of professors.

In the course of HUST's study, the story between Mirza and his professor will always be rememberable for him.

The Past is Worth Remembering, the Future is Worth Expecting

With the arrival of graduation season, Mirza will be standing at the crossroads of life. When talking about plans for the future, Mirza said that his experience in HUST was wonderful, but he still has a long way to go. Scientific research is not a day or a year's task. The project he is currently working on is an ambitious but workable one. He hopes to understand the world, to provide the world with some positive things, to propose solutions to the imbalance of economic development among countries. The project may last for more than 5 years. Regarding where will he stay in the future, he said that he is considering different options at the moment and likes to keep himself open. He has already participated in some interviews from middle eastern countries and is waiting for the results.

Almost three years ago, Mirza, with his expectations for the future, entered the gate of HUST. Now, he has grown into a professional researcher and confident excellent graduate. He is about to walk out of the 1037 Forest with the brand of HUST and the trace of the School of Economics. We wish him a bright future and a wonderful life.

莫煜:做适应市场的人才

莫煜，硕士毕业于埃塞俄比亚亚的斯亚贝巴大学发展研究专业。毕业后，他来到了中国继续学术研究工作。现为华中科技大学经济学院理论经济学博士，其主要研究方向是人口、资源与环境经济学。

从遥远的埃塞俄比亚来到中国求学，莫煜在华中科技大学经济学院度过了近三年的难忘时光。即将毕业，莫煜回顾他在华中大的学习之旅，认为是收获丰富且意义重大的。

初衷：决定去中国学习深造

硕士毕业后，感受到了全球化给世界各国政治、经济、文化带来的巨大改变的莫煜有了继续专攻发展研究方向的想法。他认为学习经济学是理解和融入全球性合作交流的重要途径；此外，他清楚地知道，单一的学习环境并不能帮助他对世界多样性文化的理解，于是出国学习经济学成了他的博士定位的选择。

为什么选择到中国留学呢？莫煜解释道，去中国留学是经过他成熟考虑之后做出的决定。莫煜目睹了近年来中国以积极的姿态参与到全球事务之中，他的国家也是“一带一路”的沿线国家之一，在这样的前景下，莫煜认为参与中国人组织的事务之中是很有可能的,因此，他需要了解中国人的交易特色。而实现这个目的的最好方式就是去中国留学。

实际上在申请博士就读大学时，莫煜曾有机会前往欧洲的比利时学习。然而，他认为比利时缺乏全球性的事务交流机会，于是莫煜放弃了比利时的机会，坚持申请中国的大学。最终他如愿地在华中科技大学找到了归宿。

选择华中大：一个完美的求学之地

莫煜认为华中大是不仅是一个有着优秀教育资源的平台，同时也是有着多种文化交流的地方。他认为学习的环境是非常重要的，“有的人从书本里学到知识，而有的人从环境中学到知识。”莫煜在华中大认识到了来自世界各地的朋友，通过不同的文化视角，他拓宽了自己的视野，对国际事务有了更深的认识。在他眼中，华中大为他提供了一个宁静致远的求学氛围。在这里，他能专心学业，潜心学问。“当然中国有许多大城市，那里有着世界级的优秀大学，但处在那样的环境中，也许我的心思就难以集中在学习本身了”。于莫煜而言，华中大是一个完美的求学之地。当然来自文化差异的不适应也是莫煜的求学路上必须面对的，对于初到中国生活上遇到的困惑以及饮食的不方便，莫煜坦白地说，“我不认为那些是我前行道路上的挑战，因为在我对学术坚定的信念面前，这些所谓的挑战仅仅是生活经历而已。他们并不重要。”

莫煜有着规律的学习生活节奏，他一般早上会去图书馆学习。他喜欢从大量的参考文献和研究调查中，找到一些感兴趣的话题并提出新的看法。这也是他向来的学习方法——基于已有的研究，将理论知识和现实联系起来，再深入拓宽。莫煜认为学习在于你知道了什么，而不是不知道什么，因此学习的关键就是要尽可能多掌握你应该知道的知识。“基本上，我是从前面的学者的研究成果中学习。当人们从研究中学习时，他们不仅仅依赖于文献，通常也能通过前者在现实世界中所关注的事情中了解到新的焦点。通过与现实世界的联系，我能够对问题更好地提出新想法。”

正是凭借着这种对知识的热情，在华中科技大学攻读博士期间，莫煜发表了3篇SSCI论文(1篇A级，2篇2B)。并在国际期刊上发表论文4余篇。取得了优秀的成绩。

未来：取决于市场需求

即将离开这个待了三年的地方，莫煜表达了他浓浓的不舍。“我在华中大待的每一天都是我美好快乐的人生经历”。

学习经济学，默默地影响了莫煜做决策的方式。在未来规划上也不例外，他以经济学的目光计划未来。他表示很想继续研究，也许会在中国读博士后，因为从目前市场来看，对于国际化的经济学人才需求是很大的。且中国目前国内市场也充满了机遇，所以莫煜非常乐意在这里继续发展自己的能力。当然，当未来来临，莫煜会根据实际变化适应市场，如此更好地发挥自己的能力。“一切都取决于市场罢了。”

Elyas Abdulahi:To be a market-oriented talent

Elyas Abdulahi holds a master's degree in Development studies from the University of Addis Ababa in Ethiopia. After graduation, he came to China to continue his academic research work.Now,he is a Ph.D. in theoretical economics at the School of Economics of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. His main research field is Population, Resources and Environmental Economics .

Coming from the distant Ethiopia , Elyas spent nearly three years in the Economics College of HUST.Facing a coming soon guaduation.At, Elyas recalls his study tour in HUST , which is considered to be significant and profound.

Original intention: decided to go to China to study further

After graduating from the Master, felt the huge changes wrought by globalization to the world of politics, economy as well as culture, Elyas had the idea to continue to specialize in the development of research directions.He believes that learning economics is to understand and integrate into the global cooperation and exchange of important way. What’s more, he knows, a single learning environment can not help his understanding of the world's cultural diversity, then going abroad to study economics became his positioning of Ph.D.

Why choose to study in China?Elyas explained that going to China to study is a decision made after his mature considerations.Elyas has witnessed a positive attitude of China when participating in global affairs, his country is also involved in "The Belt and Road". With such a prospect, Elyas thinks it is possible to participate in the affairs organized by Chinese people, so he needs to understand the transaction characteristics of Chinese people. And the best way to do that is to study in China.

However, he believes that Belgium lacks a global exchange of business opportunities, so Elyas gave up the opportunity of Belgium and insisted on applying to Chinese universities. In the end, he found his destination at Huazhong University of Science and Technology.

Choosing HUST: A perfect place to study

Elyas believes that HUST is not only a platform with excellent educational resources, but also a place for cultural exchanges. In his opinion, learning environment is quite important, "Some people acquire knowledge from books, while others learn from environment ". It is with this enthusiasm for knowledge that during the Ph.D. in Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Elyas has achieved excellent results. He published three papers in SSCI (including one grade A and two grade B) and also published more than 4 papers in international journals.

The future: depending on market demand

Elyas expressed his deep reluctance when he was about to leave this place. "Every day I am staying at HUST is my wonderful and happy life experience."

Learning economics has silently affected the way Elyas makes decisions,and the future planning is no exception. With the eyes of economics, Elyas said he would like to continue his research. He is willing to be a postdoctoral fellow in China, because from the current prospect of market, the demand for international economics talents is very large.And China's current domestic market is also full of opportunities, so that Elyas is very happy to continue to develop his capabilities here. 杨克：数学让我和华科相遇

成绩优异的杨克带着平静的心情迎接毕业季。一转眼，他来到中国已经四年了，四年前，本科毕业的他带着对中国好奇与憧憬，来到武汉。

留学生活并非是一件如想象中那么容易的事情，语言、文化、学业都是需要一步步去克服的事情。来华第一年，杨克在武汉大学学习中文，谈及那段时间的感受，他已经能够用一口地道流利的中文笑着告诉别人，在武汉大学学习中文时他很快乐，有一个很关爱他们的教授，教授的发音很标准，他的中文进步很快。“其实你要知道，一个人在国外，最怕别人无端的恶意，但我很幸运，我觉得身边的人都善良，很喜欢这里。”

语言学习得差不多之后，杨克选择来到华中科技大学经济学院攻读数量经济学的硕士学位。“我亲眼看着这里一点点的变化，变得越来越好，很令人感慨。”在学习上，当其他留学生要克服中文授课的困难时，他却谈到其实并不惧怕中文授课，在他看来，数学是一门国际语言，而他充分发挥自己在数学方面的优势，不仅没有落下专业课，反而进一步提升了自己。谈及学习方法，他有一套很独特的学习方法，他很喜欢给别人讲题，不仅可以帮助身边的同学，自己的提升也非常快。“因为你可以给别人讲题的前提是自己就要把问题理解得比较好，而在我给别人讲题的过程中，我又反复的去琢磨，当然可以收获更多的东西。”除此之外，杨克认为应用也是巩固知识最有效的方法，所谓学以致用是非常有必要的。他很喜欢结合自己的专业知识去研究一些现实的东西，进行实证分析，由此会挖掘到一些自己感兴趣的项目。

四年来的生活，杨克也遇到很多感动的人，感动的事。杨克非常感谢自己的导师，在自己入学的第二年，他原来的导师因为工作原因离开了经济学院，随后，他找到了现在的导师王少平教授，导师对他非常好，不管是在学业上，还是生活中，都给予了他很大的帮助。刚刚来到中国，文化的差异让他觉得自己无法和这里的学生成为朋友，但是慢慢的，他慢慢找到了一些和自己志同道合的中国朋友，这大概会成为他很珍贵的一段友谊。

谈到毕业之后的计划，杨克已经决定回到美国，从事与数量经济学相关的工作，他觉得自己能够永远保持着自己对数学和经济学的这份热情，在未来的工作与兴趣相结合，自己能有动力闯出属于自己的一番天地。虽然即将离开，但他对学校表示了最深的感谢与祝福，并希望有一天可以再次回到这里，希望那个时候可以看到更加美丽与强大的母校。

Yonkers:Math made me meet HUST
